Good news to all our friends in Europe and the Middle East!

Philippine flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has inked a strategic partnership agreement with UAE flag-carrier Etihad Airways, which gives Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and tourists in Europe and the Middle East more and easier options to fly to the Philippines. This means that passengers can now book PAL flights with Etihad.

The agreement covers not just the usual codeshare flights but also shared loyalty programs, airport lounges, cargo, and the coordination of airport operations, among others. This seamless integration not only presents more travel options ut also ensures comfortable airport experience for guests flying to and from Abu Dhabi and Manila hubs.

“This new agreement is one of the ways by which PAL hopes to further build its global network,” PAL President and COO Ramon S. Ang said at the signing event held at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel on July 9.

Etihad Airways’ President and CEO James Hogan said that the new agreement builds on the success of their existing codeshare arrangement.

Among Etihad’s list of destinations are Rome, Milan, Paris, Dublin, Frankfurt, Moscow, Athens, Amman, Bahrain, Cairo, and Kuwait. PAL has a wide route network in the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia (ASEAN).
