We all have a side to our personality that we want to share with other people, especially our loved ones. It can be a love affair with a certain sport, an obsession with shopping, or a deep, almost-romantic relationship with the ocean. These hobbies become integral parts of who we are.

TV host Kim Jones has one too — surfing. While she is best known as the host of the ETC lifestyle show Etcetera, she is also popular in the blogging community for her blog KimCamJones.com, where she regularly features her love for fashion and passion for travel.

But in a newly released short video, Kim shows us she is also a big fan of surfing. In fact, she has frequented a surfing community in La Union since she moved from Australia four years ago.

“I wanna show more of the Philippines,” she shares. “(My blog) is where I want to put the spotlight on the Philippines.”

“(Surfing) is a huge part of Kim’s life,” adds her close friend, stylist Bea Constantino. This does not come as a surprise to her followers on Instagram as she has always posted about her constant surfing trips on the social media site.

The municipality of San Juan in La Union is a popular destination among surfers for its consistent swell (especially from October to April), excellent wave quality (reaching up to 10 feet on a good swell), and proximity to Manila (five to six hours). Its accessibility coupled with the number of surf shops and resorts along its shore makes it a hotspot for newbies and advanced wave-riders alike.
