The south of Cebu is most recognizable for its diving sites, although some beaches offer shores more suited for lazing around rather than serving as a jumping-off point for divers. Arguably one of the best white-sand beaches in Southern Cebu, Tingko Beach in Alcoy stretches along a lagoon for more than a mile, serving as a weekend getaway destination for the locals and foreign visitors alike.

How to Get There
Nearest Airport: Mactan Cebu International Airport (Cebu)
By Air
- Coming from Manila, this is the most convenient and fastest way to go to Cebu. It will take you around 1 hour to get to Mactan Cebu International Airport. Check your preferred airline company for the flight schedule and airfare.
- When you finally arrive in Cebu (either via air or sea), you can take a bus (aircon and non-aircon) or a v-hire bound for Oslob (P90-150) in the South Bus Terminal. Most buses have trips every 30 minutes or every hour.
- Get off at Tingko Beach in Alcoy. Travel time from Cebu City is around two to three hours.
By Sea
- It will take you around 20 to 34 hours from Manila to Cebu. Check ferry schedules of Manila North Harbor.
- When you finally arrive in Cebu (either via air or sea), you can take a bus (aircon and non-aircon) or a v-hire bound for Oslob (P90-150) in the South Bus Terminal. Most buses have trips every 30 minutes or every hour.
- Get off at Tingko Beach in Alcoy. Travel time from Cebu City is around two to three hours.
Entrance Fee and Other Charges
- Entrance Fee: Varies from where you enter; some areas have no entrance fee, some range from P10-20
- Camping Fee: Some areas are free, some have minimal fee of P100 (Exclusive of tent)
- Cottage Rental Fee: Rates vary from one resort to another but usually range from P300 to P1000

- Not far away from the beach proper is the old Spanish watch tower locally known as Bantayan sa Hari.

- The whole stretch is divided into 4 areas: Tingko Beach 1, Voda Krasna Resort, Tingko Beach 2, and the public beach. If you want to enter without paying the entrance fee, go to the public beach area.
- Keep the place clean. Practice proper garbage disposal. Leave nothing but footprints.
If You Have More Time and Budget
- You may rent a boat or join a group going to the sandbar and coral island, Mabad-on Reef, just across the beach. Enjoy the fine sand (during low tide) or be amazed at the underwater scenery while you snorkel around.
