Basdaku Beach is located in Moalboal where diving enthusiasts, locals and foreigners alike, flock. It is the choice base for divers who like to enjoy chilling by the beach after a day’s dive. Non-divers still go to this long stretch of white sandy coastline for a weekend get-away with family or friends.

How to Get There

Nearest Airport: Mactan Cebu International Airport (Cebu)

By Air

  1. Coming from Manila, this is the most convenient and fastest way to go to Cebu. It will take you around 1 hour to get to Mactan Cebu International Airport. Check your preferred airline company for the flight schedule and airfare.
  2. When you finally arrive in Cebu (either via air or sea), you can take a bus (aircon and non-aircon) or a v-hire bound for Moalboal (P110-130) in the South Bus Terminal. Most buses have trips every 30 minutes or every hour.
  3. Ask the driver or conductor to drop you off at Basdaku.
  4. From Basdaku, ride a tricycle or a habal habal to the beach area (P50-80).

By Sea

  1. It will take you around 20 to 34 hours from Manila to Cebu. Check ferry schedules of Manila North Harbor.
  2. When you finally arrive in Cebu (either via air or sea), you can take a bus (aircon and non-aircon) or a v-hire bound for Moalboal (P110-130) in the South Bus Terminal. Most buses have trips every 30 minutes or every hour.
  3. Ask the driver or conductor to drop you off at Basdaku.
  4. From Basdaku, ride a tricycle or a habal habal to the beach area (P50-80).

Travel time from Cebu City is around two to three hours.

 


Entrance Fee and Other Charges

  • Entrance Fee: Varies from where you enter; some areas have no entrance fee, some range from P10-20
  • Camping Fee: Some areas are free, some have minimal fee of P100 (Exclusive of tent)
  • Cottage Rental Fee: Rates vary from one resort to another but usually range from P300 to P2500

Don’t Miss

  • The real treasures of Basdaku beach lie beneath the waters. For non-divers, you can do snorkeling or, if you are willing to spend some money, do introductory (scuba) diving offered in one of the diving resorts there.
  • You can also play volleyball or ultimate Frisbee with friends, family, or even fellow beachgoers.

Don’t Forget

  • There are plenty of restaurants and “carinderias”, but you can bring your own food.
  • Bring your own camping gear and equipment.
  • Keep the place clean. Practice proper garbage disposal.

If You Have More Time and Budget
  • Explore other nearby attractions such as Pescador Island and Panagsama Beach or the caves and springs in Barangay Busay.
  • Visit marine sanctuaries — Tuble Marine Sanctuary and Saavedra Marine Sanctuary.
  • Take a side trip to Kawasan Falls in Badian.
