2025 CRIMSON RESORT & SPA, BORACAY Travel Guide and Tips

By continuing to read this article, you agree to double-check with the concerned establishments for the latest updates.

We’re no strangers to budget resorts whenever we go on beach trips, but occasionally we do like to splurge on fancier accommodations! This trip was meant to be a treat for me and my mom, and we were looking forward to having a laidback getaway to Boracay, one of the most popular islands of the Philippines.

PHBEACHKLOOK

We thought that a stay at Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay might just be our best bet this summer to pamper ourselves and have a refreshing mother-daughter date. If you are also eyeing this resort for your trip to Boracay, I got you! For this article, I’ll be taking you around this luxury beach resort on Boracay’s Station Zero.

NOTE: This trip was not sponsored. My mom and I personally paid for everything, including hotel stay, resort services, and all other expenses.

How to Get to Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay

Caticlan Airport to Crimson Welcome Center

You can get to the resort in the same way that you would get to any other areas in Boracay: via boat transfers from Caticlan to the island.

Note that Crimson does have its own port, which they call the Welcome Center. If you are booking with them directly, your booking will usually include roundtrip transfers from the airport to the resort. This includes a van ride from the airport to their Welcome Center, and then a boat ride from their Welcome Center to their secluded beach.

Caticlan Airport Boracay Arrival

  1. Arrival and Airport Pick-up. At this point of the trip, I was already very impressed not only with the facilities but with the service as well. Prior to your trip, Crimson staff will be contacting you to get your flight details so that they can have their staff pick you up once you get your check-in bags at Arrivals, if any.
  2. Van to Crimson Welcome Center. We didn’t even have to wait because their staff was right outside Caticlan Airport’s Arrival area welcoming us! We did, however, have to wait for maybe five minutes in the van for another set of guests to arrive, but it wasn’t a bother! Once all bags were loaded, it was a quick five- to ten-minute drive from the airport to Crimson’s Welcome Center.

Crimson Welcome Center to Crimson Secluded Beach

Their Welcome Center is very comfy and well-equipped with welcoming staff, clean restrooms (complete with bidets, soap, and tissue), abundant seating options while you wait, and a selection of drinks and snacks as refreshments. It was such a good stop after our flight and an amazing introduction to our two-night stay. We’re not even at the resort yet, and I already don’t want to leave!

  1. Private Boat to Crimson Resort. We had to wait for around 15 to 20 minutes before we were asked to board the boat bound for Crimson Resort.

    Crimson Boracay Welcome Center

  2. Arrival at Crimson Resort. After a 20-minute boat ride, we finally arrived at the shores of the hotel. We’ve mentioned this as well in our other Boracay articles, but there’s really no escaping the short but turbulent walk on the boardwalks that take you from the boat to the shore. Thankfully, they do have ropes where you can hang onto and even staff to help guests make the quick walk. Plus points for the umbrellas to combat the raging sun!

Crimson Secluded Beach to Resort Lobby

  1. Golf Cart to Resort’s Lobby. Now, from Crimson’s beach access, you’ll have to walk on the sand and along some parts of the Azure Beach Club to get to the area where you have to ride a golf cart to bring you to the lobby. Don’t even bother trying to walk to the lobby because it’s all the way on the other side of the resort!
  2. Lobby Crimson Resort Boracay

  3. Resort Check-in. Once you get to the lobby, just wait for your turn to check in. The Concierge are extremely helpful and will give you a brief but info-packed explanation on the ins and outs of the resort, including the resort layout, wifi access, complimentary shuttle service, and breakfast buffet details. You can watch more of that in the video on our YouTube channel about Crimson Resort.

Standard check-in is at 3PM and check-out is at 11AM. You can try requesting for an early check-in or late check-out, but there’s no guarantee that you will be accommodated.

Mandatory Government Fees

Upon arrival at the resort, guests will also be charged mandatory government fees, such as terminal fees and environmental fees. Since you availed of the roundtrip transfer service, you bypassed the normal port process in Caticlan. Hence, the resort will collect these required fees from guests.

Here are the mandatory government fees:

Environmental Fee

  • Local Guest
    (6 y/o and above)

    P150

  • Foreign Guest
    (6 y/o and above)

    P300

Terminal Fees

Room Tour

Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay has amazing amenities and services in general (and I’m giving you as many possible details in this post), but I think we can all agree that any resort’s quality comes down to how well-equipped their rooms are.

This branch of Crimson has been around for a little over five years, which is pretty young for a resort, so you’d expect the facilities to be well-maintained, and I’d say our room lives up to the expectations.

As I’ve mentioned before, this trip was meant to be a treat for me and my mom. We wanted to splurge yet still stay practical so we booked a Deluxe Hillview Room with two double beds!

Bedroom

Aside from the two double beds, the Deluxe Hillview room also comes with a lounge and a table. And since we opted for a hillview room, here’s our view! It may not be as breathtaking as a view of the ocean, but it was a gorgeous view nonetheless. And if you’re sick of the view (or rather the heat of the morning sun), each room comes with motorized blinds.

Bathroom

Here’s a quick glimpse of the comfort room.

Room Bathroom Crimson Boracay

It does have a clear view of the room, but don’t worry because there are blinds to ensure privacy! The toilet and the shower are separated, and you don’t have to worry about running out of toilet paper (well, in our case). Plus there’s a bidet!

You won’t find a shortage of towels and bathrobes here! In the closet, you’ll find a safe and two pairs of slippers for you to use around the resort that you can also take home.

Bathroom Amenities Crimson Boracay

Other Amenities

The room does come with a flat screen TV! Below the TV, you’ll find these other amenities:

Room Amenities Crimson Boracay 2

Crimson Resort does not include complimentary disposable bottles in the rooms, but they do have two large glass jugs that you can use during your stay. They have refilling stations all over the resort. We actually passed by one on the way to our room! Another feature I appreciated as a true blue beach & pool girly was this built-in drying rack on the balcony.

Room Amenities Crimson Boracay 1

As an added bonus, we even got an extra set of toiletries for free when all my mom asked for was another bottle of lotion!

I honestly could stay in the room, never go out, and still say that I had the best time in Boracay. The rooms were made for ease and comfort, and for a lazy girl like me and a certified tita like my mom, that alone makes for an amazing holiday.

Things to Do

I know, I know, I said I don’t even want to leave our room! But trust me, the available amenities, activities, and things to do at Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay will make your venture outside of your room worthwhile. As for me, I’m glad we ventured beyond our hotel room!

Swimming Pools

Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay has four pools for guests to enjoy. These are the following: Main Pool, Indigo Pool, Cobalt Pool, and Kids Pool.

Crimson Boracay Swimming Pools

The pools are placed far from each other. The Kiddie Pool & Main Pool are right beside each other, near Azure Beach Club, but the Indigo Pool & Cobalt Pool are in separate buildings.

Opening Hours: Main Pool, 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Indigo Pool, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Cobalt Pool, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM; Kids Pool, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Secluded Beach

Crimson Resort boasts access to this secluded beach, and while the sand here may not be as white and fine as White Beach, we appreciated the privacy. It’s a great place to chill because they have quite a few lounge chairs, and you can even take a dip in the water!

Crimson Boracay Secluded Beach

Access to the beach is open from 6AM to 6PM, but guests are allowed to stay on the sunbed outside of these hours.

Water Sports

Now, if you’re one to enjoy a bit more excitement beyond lazing on the beach, you can also partake in activities like parasailing, island hopping, jet skis, and the like. You’ll find the full list of activities with their rates in January 2025 here:

Art Room

The resort hosts a few art classes for both adults and children, which you can take part in for a price. During our visit, kids aged seven to 12 years old could join art classes for P1,600. For adults, there’s a 300-peso difference. If you’d like to take a crack at painting sunsets, seascapes, and the like, you can do so for P1,900.

CrimZone

Open from 9AM to 5PM, CrimZone is a great place for kids to interact with each other. Kids can enjoy the amenities within CrimZone while parents get to unwind for a bit.

CrimZone Crimson Boracay

It’s an indoor facility with air conditioning and staff watching over, so you can rest assured that your kids will be comfortable here. But please note that kids younger than five years old should be accompanied by a guardian who is 18 years old or older.

Here are the activities that kids can take part in while in the CrimZone.

CrimZone Activities Crimson Boracay

Pirate Ship

Aside from the indoor CrimZone, kids can also explore the Pirate Ship, an outdoor playground near the beach. Similar to CrimZone, the Pirate Ship is also open from 9AM to 5PM and also requires kids younger than five years old to be accompanied by a guardian who is 18 years old or older.

Fitness Center

Crimson also has a Fitness Center. They have a few treadmills, ellipticals, a pingpong table, and a basketball booth (if that’s what you even call this thing haha).

Fitness Center Crimson Boracay

They also have towels, water, and free wifi for guests! The Fitness Center is open daily. Only guests 16 years old and above may use the fitness center without a guardian.

Aum Spa

Aum Spa was my mom’s favorite amenity! Aside from the actual spa, which is open from 10AM to 10PM, a few of the spa’s masseuses do free trials on your way out to Saffron Cafe, where the breakfast buffet is held.

My mom loves a good free trial, so best believe she lined up for the free back massage! And that was enough to convince her to do a 60-minute AUM Aromatic (P4,800).

Aum Spa Crimson Boracay

One thing I’ve learned about Crimson is that there’s no harm in asking. My mom jokingly asked if there was a discount for the massage, and during the time of our visit, they did have a discount! Aside from the discount offered by the spa, she was also able to use her senior citizen card to get an additional discount. Her bill for the 60-minute massage was just under P3,500!

To check out Aum Spa’s different offers, here’s their pricelist, straight from the Crimson Resort & Spa website.

Fire Dance

The Azure Beach Club hosts certain activities on certain days of the week, and it just so happened that we visited on a Thursday, which meant that there was a fire dance scheduled at 7PM. Take note that this is free for all visitors!

Fire Dance Crimson Boracay

Make your way to the beachfront to watch Boracay fire dancers light up Crimson’s shores. I didn’t even know this was happening, but my mom just so happened to see the tarpaulin displayed at the lobby. Keep your eyes peeled for events like this that make an already amazing beach getaway even more exciting.

Explore the resort

I don’t think the photos in this article do justice to the immense area that the Crimson Resort & Spa covers. Aside from the amenities mentioned, the resort itself can be your playground. Compared to hotels in the metro that often occupy one big building, the Crimson Resort & Spa can be likened to a sprawling village with multiple buildings and areas that share a panoramic view of Boracay’s crystal waters.

Where to Eat

Crimson Resort has 3 restaurants and in-room dining. You guys can check the menus of all the restaurants we’ll mention, including their in-room dining menu, in Crimson’s service directory.

In general, prices in Crimson’s in-house restaurants are on the pricier side, but the advantage is that you won’t need to venture out of the resort for good food and ambiance. Below are the details:

Azure Beach Club

Azure Beach Club Crimson Boracay

My mom and I weren’t able to try Azure Beach Club during our trip, but our teammate Vins from The Poor Traveler was able to catch a few bites back in 2021. They had Ahi Tuna Tataki, Pulled Pork Quesadilla, Mixed Vegetable Samosa, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Nasi Goreng.

Saffron Cafe

Crimson’s breakfast buffet is held at the Saffron Cafe from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM. This buffet is to die for! They have such a wide variety of flavors and options, so it’s perfect for big eaters and picky eaters alike.

Saffron Cafe Crimson Boracay

I’m a sucker for egg stations and noodle bars, so of course, I requested scrambled eggs and noodle bowls just the way I like them. I also had some pancakes, French toast, and some bacon.

They have bread stations, pastries, cold cuts & cheeses, fruit juices, fresh fruits, a salad station, and breakfast staples and meals from all over the world.

After breakfast, the cafe is also open to guests as a regular cafe with an a la carte menu for lunch or dinner.

Mosaic Latin American Grill

If you’re looking for a more romantic and luxurious vibe for dinner, head over to the Mosaic Latin American Grill. The restaurant itself has beautiful interiors, but I’m just happy that the food was delicious as well!

Mosaic Latin American Grill
Pez con Arroz Negro (Top Right), La Clasica Caesar (Bottom Left), and Que Hamburgesa (Bottom Right)

My mom and I shared a Caesar salad, La Clasica Caesar (P450), and some mashed potatoes (P200). I ordered their Que Hamburgesa (P1,600), which included an Angus beef sirloin burger, some sides like chimichurri, French fries, and bone marrow.

My mom, who’s clearly eating healthier than I am, opted for their Pez con Arroz Negro (P1400). I can’t seem to find this on their menu anymore, but in their 2023 menu, this dish was priced at P1,400 per plate, which features seared red grouper, squid ink Adlai rice, and green peas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you go to other stations from Crimson Resort?

Yes, you can! You can actually ask for help from the Concierge at the Lobby to hail a tricycle. We don’t really recommend making the walk from the lobby to Boracay Highway Central, which is Boracay’s main thoroughfare, so it’s best to hail a tricycle that will meet you at the lobby, even if it is more expensive.

You’ll find more info about e-trike rates here:

Boracay E-Trike Fare Matrix

Thankfully, Crimson Resort have a complimentary shuttle service for guests so you can save on transportation around the island.

They have five free trips per day, with drop-off and pick-up points at Jollibee in Station 2, which is a 5-minute walk from D’Mall Boracay. The shuttle will also pass by City Mall and Robinsons Supermarket, but they only do drop-offs at these stops.

What are the modes of payment at Crimson Resort?

The resort accepts cards, cash, and e-payments. You can use your debit cards, credit cards, cash, or make QR code payments using digital banks to pay for any additional services, or you can even charge them to your room and settle the balance at the end of your stay.

Additionally, we were also asked to make a refundable incidental deposit of P3,000 per room upon check-in. You can use cash for this, but you can also use your credit card, like I did.

How’s the service at Crimson Resort?

Since Crimson Resort is a 5-star hotel, we booked this hotel with the expectation of top-notch service, and they definitely lived up to the expectations.

Hotel staff are all over the resort and are always courteous and ready to help. The resort itself is well-equipped with printed and digital signboards for the many amenities they offer.

Crimson Boracay Customer Service
Left: One of the digital signboards. Right: Crimson Resort Boracay WhatsApp Chatbot.

Perhaps my favorite customer service feature would be their WhatsApp Chatbot. When you check in, you’ll be given a QR code to scan so that you can access the chatbot throughout your stay. Don’t worry, they’ll have more detailed instructions when you get there!

Through this chatbot, I was able to make reservations at the restaurants, request extra lotion, ask for wake-up calls, and many more. It’s extremely convenient, and I love that you can use it even when you’re not in your room. I think that’s what sold me the most on the chatbot, since I was able to use it by the pool or even on the beach, so long as I had wifi or data.

Tips and Reminders

  • Protect yourself from the scorching heat, especially during summer. With the extreme heat index recorded in recent years, using a sunscreen is not enough. Bring extra protection — sunglasses to protect your eyes and a hat for more shield against the sun.
  • Use reef-friendly sunscreen. It is also important to keep the environment in mind while protectiong ourselves from the harsh sun. Buy products that don’t have chemicals like oxybenzone, benzophenone, and parabens.
  • Bring a reusable water container. You can practice sustainable tourism not buying single-use plastic items like bottled water. Bring your trusted water tumbler. This helps you save a bit of money too!
  • Apply the “Leave No Trace” principle. Take nothing but photos, kill nothing but time, leave nothing but footprints.
